Haven't posted in a while; mostly due to not giving a shit, but I guess maybe I've been a little busy lately too. I'll be back at it again next week.
Black Sabbath - "Paranoid" : For most, this is the definitive Sabbath record. A lot of primitive aesthetics on this record were explored that Sabbath would later become absolutely synonymous with. In the midst of their crushingly, doomed out haze, Sabbath had a knack for throwing a song like "Planet Caravan" in the mix; a bluesy and drugged out trip that you can't help but find yourself lost in.
Funebrarum - "The Sleep of Morbid Dreams" : I already reviewed this band, I'm not doing it again. Just as essential as the debut.
Gravediggaz - "6 Feet Deep" : Underrated east coast record from RZA and Prince Paul. Gravediggaz was Price Paul's fuck you to Russel Simmons/Def Jam in the early 90's. Production is exactly on point with that New York style grime and some live instrumentation thrown in, not unlike what RZA was doing on "36 Chambers" a little bit earlier. Oh, and the album was originally supposed to be called "Niggamortis", which honestly, is way better.
