I hope you all had a good America Day. Here are some tunes to throw on the grill.

Satyricon- "Rebel Extravaganza"

I can totally see why someone wouldn't want to give this album a chance. If you can get past the horribly nu metal artwork, the embarrassing band photos, and the cringe-worthy title, you'll realize this is probably the most misanthropic and harshest offering in the Satyricon catalog. Frost is an absolute monster of a drummer and this whole record drips with a violent and hateful vibe. I really wish they'd re-release this with new artwork.

Mortal Decay- "Brutalizing Creations Demo '95"

Mortal Decay has one of my favorite guitar tones and some of the best groove-laden riffs of all classic 90s death metal. Total east coast supremacy found here on this demo. The vocals are great about 75% of the time. 25% of the time I am either laughing or plugging my ears. Overall though, you're pittin.'

Ripcord- "Defiance of Power"

Easily one of the most influential and legendary UK hardcore bands ever. Blending the UK punk vibe with early American hardcore stylings of SSD and Negative Approach, Ripcord still seems like a band so many people skip when they cite "classic" hardcore bands of the 80s. Add this to your old school playlist immediately.

Webbie- "Savage Life"

Girl gimme dat pussay.
