I'm gonna try and keep this short & sweet, I'm a strange type of person and enjoy a twisted, often menacing alternate life in dream; rife with violence and untold horror that only dreams can provide. I have always enjoyed the effectiveness of music to enhance the journey between layers of consciousness. The list here is a collections of songs i feel make the most beautiful conduit to lubricate that twilight state.
1. Boys Night Out - Trainwreck: A weird eerie concept album that tells the story of a man who kills his wife while sleeping and tries to come to grips with it. A lil heavy on the screamo side but the story and atmosphere are perfect for making things weird in your head.
2. Queens Of The Stone Age - Songs For The Deaf: This album is atmospheric while being alternately aggressive. The summer after freshman year of college I had weeks of time in hell dating Satan's daughter and loving every minute of the violent sado-masochistic union. Being filleted has never been quite so sensual.
Pink Floyd - Animals: How can you make a list about albums and dream states without Pink Floyd making the cut? This particular album has a great sparsity and foreignness that makes you feel lost and afraid of your own reflection. (I could honestly include any of their albums but this one deserves a shout more than others.)
I said i'd keep it short so there you go.
