I recently discovered and fell in love with Blistered, a metallic hardcore outfit out of Tampa that is a throwback to the glory days of early 90s metalcore. Their latest release, "Soul Erosion," was just released on 6131 Records this month and absolutely slays! Crushing breakdowns, raspy vocals, dissonant hooks, and some stellar mixing by Taylor Young (Twitching Tongues, Nails) make this release a must have for any fan of hardcore or metal. Hey, the 90s are cool again, and if you are too young to remember the metalcore scene before swoop hair and bubble gum jeans made a mockery of it, Blistered should remind you to check out Disembodied, Overcast, Dragbody, Acme, and a slew of other bands that absolutely crushed during the Clinton administration.
